What is a prepaid card?
How is the Univision Prepaid Card different than a bank Debit Card or Credit Card?
The Univision Prepaid Card is similar to a Debit Card, but not linked to a traditional checking account. As a result, it provides the convenience of plastic, which can be used at millions of locations worldwide, wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted. Yet, because there is no link to a traditional checking account, you do not have to worry about overdraft fees.
The Univision Prepaid Card is also different from a Credit Card. It does not provide credit, so you don’t need a credit check approval to get one. And, you do not have to worry about interest charges.
Here’s how it works. You add money to your Card, directly by check or by cash at thousands of grocery stores and pharmacies. You can then use your Card to buy things and pay bills at stores, restaurants, online, etc, and to get cash at ATMs until you use up the money on your card. You don’t have to worry about credit troubles or unexpected costs. It’s safer than carrying cash, and it helps you to control your expenses and family budget.
You'll never go into debt* using a Prepaid Card.
*It is possible that a merchant may rarely “force post” transactions that exceed the amount loaded on the card, resulting in a negative balance on the card. The negative balance amount will be deducted from your next deposit. While the account is negative, additional transactions will be declined.
